CASE'd Card

I had a wonderful time yesterday getting together with "mom", all my "sisters" and step sisters. I haven't gotten together with them since we moved over 2 years ago.
This card is not one of the shoebox swaps that we made but I happened to see one that Betty had out and fell in love with it. So here is my version of that card. This one uses Whisper White, Not Quite Navy and Baja Breeze. I then used the new Scallop Edge Punch and did two scallops. The verse is from Heard from the Heart one of the new sets that has just been released. When I did the bottom piece I was not planning on adding the second scallop up top but when finished I decided it really needed something else and I like that second layer. Snow Burst is stamped on the Baja layer in Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze and then a couple of the large flakes are embossed. I felt the need to add some snow along the top edge so I just ran the Color Box White pad where I wanted and embossed extra snow. A few of the mini pearls from the Pretties Kit finished it off.
Tomorrow I will show the great cards we did for our swaps.

Stamping with friends

I am heading off this morning and driving to my SU "moms" home to stamp with our group. I'll be back much later and hope to have a few pictures to show you. I know I'll have some new samples as we are doing a shoebox.

Hope you all have a safe and happy Labor Day!

New Cards

Did I tell you that I love the new Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalog? Here are a couple more cards done using new sets and some of the new In Colors. The top card has Upsy Daisy stamped in Pacific Point along the bottom edge of the top layer. This color really pops out at you. I then used the new Wide Oval punch and the Large Oval punch and stamped the friend to friend from the new set Pocket Silhouettes then finished it off with the new Double Stitched Pacific Point Grosgrain ribbon. I love this new set.

On the second card I started out to make one for the Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge CC181 but decided I needed to add Bella Rose Designer Paper in the background. For the color challenge we were to use Basic Black, Rose Red and Kraft. I used all of them and my new BIG SHOT from Stampin' Up! That is another favorite of mine. Wow so much new stuff to play with I don't know where to go next. I hope you enjoy these two samples.

MORE CHRISTMAS CARDS

Here are two cards done with the new Stampin' Up! set A Wish for Peace. Very easy to do cards with just a touch of glitz. I love Black and white cards and that is just what I used for the top one. The image and verse are stamped with basic black on Glossy White cardstock. Adding a touch of Stampin' Up!s Gingham ribbon and some glitter on the trees.

The second one is completed using the new "In Color" Riding Hood Red. The piece under the verse was crimped then I added some of the new Stiped Grosgrain Ribbon in Riding Hood Red. The verse was stamped using the same color, sponged then punched out with the new wide Oval Punch. I love all the new punches and will be showing them as I complete cards with the new sets.

SHAVING CREAM TECHNIQUE

I decided it was time to play in the shaving cream again. I made a bunch of backgrounds using Bravo Burgundy, Handsome Hunter and Bordering Blue. So far I have only completed these two cards but do have many backgrounds left to play with. I mean if you going to do shaving cream make it worth your while. On the first card I used the Stampin' Up! set Many Merry Messages. The second card uses Holy Triptych and Holidays & Wishes. The angels wings have Crystal Effects and Dazzling Diamonds on them.

Holy Triptych 2

I really like the Layered Collage Technique so I had to do a second card. I distressed the edges of the layer with the images and then added a photo corner that I had double pierced. I had since added stickles on the angels wings to give it a little glitz.

Stampin' Up! Holy Triptych Stamp Set

I just finsihed this card and while it is very simple I happen to like it. This design is from the August Technique Junkie Newsletter and is called Layered Collage. Since my card is for Christmas it is a little different. I Distress Inks in three different shades and the cardstock is all Stampin' Up! - Very Vanilla and the new In Color Riding Hood Red.

CHRISTMAS DECORATION

I got directions for a wonderful Snowflake ornament off of this blog. I made several of them last year and have started making them for this year. I have also made something a little different with it. Please let me know if you like it. Please click on photo to get a better view. The designer paper is the retired Stampin' Up! Wintergreen. I've also used Crystal Effects, Dazzling Diamonds and Pearls from the Pretties Kit.

MYSTERY FLOWER APPEARS

In the spring I received several plants from a niece to add to my flower gardens. Most of them lived but a few did not make the transition. We ended up having such hot weather and dry conditions again this year. I was out inspecting several of my beds the other day and noticed this flower stalk! Apparently my dead plant was not dead at all. I found out that this flower is called "Naked Lady" and she is very pretty.

CHRISTMAS GIFT

Here is a gift I have made using the empty Pretties Tin. I used the new Bella Rose Designer Paper by Stampin' Up! which I love to decorate it with. I had to add some of the flowers from the Pretties kit and along the top edge I used Micro Beads from PennywiseArts.

2ND BIRTHDAY PARTY

I have to share a few photos of Peytons 2nd birthday party from this past weekend. What a birthday cake! Since his party was at a farm Kim had ordered a farm based cake and it was huge! One section of the cake, the barn, was carrot cake and was it ever good. The little hay stacks on the corners were marshmallows covered with coconut, just too cute. All the little ones were able to ride the pony and Peyton just loved it.
One of the gifts that we got him included musical instruments and it didn't take him long to learn how to use the harmonica. I was so happy that we were able to share in his birthday fun.

DESIGNER TILES TECHNIQUE

I did these two cards using the new Stampin' Up! Designer Paper Bella Rose. This technique was in the August 2008 Technique Junkie Newsletter. Stamp sets used include Elegant Cheer and Fabulous Flowers from Stampin' Up!
