Home again

We were away for the Memorial Weekend to a family reunion. Had a wonderful time but have no cards or scrap pages done. I have been uploading family photos from the reunion. I will show you a couple of my favorites. The top photo is our great grandson sitting on a piece of farm equipment - no I have no clue what it is but he was having a ball climbing on it. The bottom photo was taken at our home the night before we left for the reunion. Our grandson and his family spent the night with us since it cut the trip up for them and made it easier to do. We were surprised that Nate sat close to Joe since we don't see him all that often.

Even with the showers we had at the reunion we all had a good time. There were not as many at the reunion this year but it always seems to vary. We all get together at the farm - some even camp in tents, not me though I am a motel person. Food is everywhere and if anyone goes hungry it is their own fault. It was extremely difficult to stick with my diet but I did do pretty good. Of course, the fact that I have to go tomorrow and get all my blood work done had some bearing on me sticking with my diet. I will get all the results next week when I go back to the doctor.

A couple of scrap pages

This post is scheduled ahead of time since I am out of town again. Family reunion this time and time spent with our grand and great grand.

Both of these pages have been sort of done for a while. They are both converted from 8 1/2 x 11 to 12 x 12 pages since I never got them into an album. Card stock for both pages is Club Scrap. The top page is little ole me! Hard to think I was that small. The bottom page is my maternal grandmothers parents and siblings and the photo was taken somewhere around 1920. My grandmother is the oldest girl all the way to the right.

I am working on new scrap pages from our trip to the Outer Banks that we took for our 43rd anniversary.

Hope you all have a safe Memorial Weekend.

The Next Level

A new Challenge is coming June 1, 2009. Check out the Next Level and see what they have in store for us all.

Petite Dress Swap

I had signed up for this swap and really didn't have a clue as to what I was going to do. I am not a sewer, no machine and generally don't have fabric around. I did have this "canvas" so I decided to cut a little dress, about 5 inches, stamp on it and dress it a little. I hope my partner likes it.

I am behind again in looking at everyones blog. I have been trying to work in my flower gardens while the weather is cool enough outside for me. I can't tolerate it when it is hot. I hope to catch up on all the blogs later today. Thanks so very much for visiting mine, I do appreciate it.

Dominoe Swap

The pictures on these did not turn out very well. I signed up for a swap and they have to go in the mail tomorrow so I thought I would show you. I used Lumiere Pearl White, Pearl Turquoise and Pearl Blue. I think the blue is almost too dark but they are done. The stamp is from Stampin' Up! and I placed Class-A-Peel Stickers in the centers of the flowers. I then used Stampin' Up! Sticky Strip around the edges and added Black and Silver Micro Beads from Pennywisearts. Then brushed a coat of Crystal Effects over the whole piece. Hope my swap partners like them.

A couple plant pictures

The top photo is Rhododendron 'Percy Wiseman' isn't it gorgeous. This plant has been in my yard since last year so it is still kind of small.
The second plant is Amethyst in Snow Bachelor's Button and it also was planted last year.

I am sorry that I have not done any crafting but this time of year I spend a lot of time in my garden. I hope to get around and visit all of you soon.

It's MAY!!!

My one and only sister will be celebrating her birthday very soon and this is the card I did for her.
1) Bordering Blue base card
2) Designer Paper is Bella Birds, this is the next layer
3) So Saffron panel topped with Bella Birds, then Bordering Blue Panel topped with reverse Bella Birds side.
4) Punched a Scallop Circle out of So Saffron and Bella Birds, cut each to make the flower.
5) On the Bella Circle I cut off alternating "petals" so I could layer the flower.
6) Used 1/2 inch circle punch and did a Bordering Blue flower center.
7) Added Crystal Effects to flower center
8) Added Chunky Essentials White Glitter to CE
9) Stamped Happy Birthday using the On Your Birthday Stampin' Up! set in Basic Black on So Saffron card stock.
10) Punched out with Oval Punch, then used Scallop Oval punchwith Bordering Blue
11) Punched larger Oval with Marvy punch and mounted all on the panel
11) Cut 3 lengths of Grosgrain ribbon and mounted under the panel.
12) Another punch this time the Trio Flower done in Bordering Blue
