Cuttlebug Spot Challenge

Was to use 2 embossing folders. On this card I used the Swiss Dots folder and the used the Stylized Flowers for the top half. So actually the top half only has the two folders but I hope it qualifies. It is not a very good scan since I used such light colors. Check out the Cuttlebug Spot and see all the great challenges they have.
All products except for the folders are Stampin' Up!. I think I will be adding some glitz to this one.

Easter Cards

I have been working on a few cards to send out for Easter. I am keeping them fairly light weight so the Post Office doesn't charge so much for mailing. These cards all use Stampin' Up! Designer Papers and cardstock. The stamp is a retired one that I still have on hand. The two completed with the Designer Paper Flock Together also use one of my favorite Sizzix Dies Flower, Daisies #2 that I recently got from Stampin' Up! I love layering it. I have also used the MS Butterfly punch, Stampin' Up! Scallop Punch and some of my Nesties.

Back and behind!

Here are a few pages of a little booklet that I completed over the weekend at our NC Babes Get Together. We all made ATC with the Girlfriends theme and traded them. There were 12 of us and we each made our own booklet thanks to Christy who brought her BIA along. This may be a tool that I will have to get. We had a wonderful weekend and I completed 27 scrapbook pages - minus the journaling. I also worked on ATC's for a swap.
Now I have to catch up with all the wonderful art that has been posted since I left the blogging world.

Cuttlebug Spot Sketch Challenge #22

I like this sketch but I think I put so many flowers on here you can't see all of the strips. You really should visit the Cuttlebug Spot a visit at: http://thecuttlebugspot.blogspot.com/
1) Base card is Gable Green, all cardstock is Stampin' Up!
2) First layer is Stampin' Up! Designer Paper Rainbow Sherbert
3) 1 strip of Gable Green cardstock and two strips of Rainbow Sherbert are layered next. Rainbow Sherbert was turned over. The strip of Gable Green was run through the Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots folder.
4) Whisper White cardstock was stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink with a verse from a Stampin' Up! set. It was then run through the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Folder and the Gable Green ink pad was lightly taken over the entire piece to add a touch of color.
5) MS butterfly punch used for the 3 Tempting Turquoise butterflys and then they had Stickles added.
6) Various flowers from my stash and the center of each was given a glob of Crystal Effects. I had to add some branches under the flowers and MS punch was used for that.
Hope you like it.

Here are the ATC's

For this challenge you had to use a brown paper bag on the ATC. I only had to do three but the extra is for the hostess. I hope they like them, they are quick and easy.

Home and.......

trying to get caught up! I still have to catch up on visiting everyone and have yet to get everything put away from our trip. Somehow this trip took a bit out of me. I'm anxious to get back to doing a few cards. I do have a couple of ATC's that I will put up here later today. This morning it is on to my 2nd Diabetes class and then to get some groceries. I hope you all have a wonderful day and I will be back to visit all. I hope to have some blog candy later this week for a give-a-way.

Using up stuff

This 3 1/2 x 4 1/2 little card was made using stuff that was either given to me or sent to me. It is from pieces of a birthday card that I had received and a RAK pack that was also given to me. It's good to use up things that are just around.

Christmas Card

Yes I know it is a long way until Christmas but you just have to keep making them all year. This is one of my 5 that I am making for the "green" Christmas Card challenge. I will post a link to the challenge when I get back. I used the Cuttlebug Holly and then sponged on Handsome Hunter over the holly leaves. I had to add a touch of red.

Blooming in the yard on 3-08-09

I just planted these last year so this is the first time I have had them bloom in our yard. One of the Daffodils at the top. I planted obout 100 bulbs last fall and these are the first ones blooming. I can see that the Star Magnolia is going to be a favorite of mine. Of course that is until something else I really like starts blooming. This bush is only about 3 feet tall so it is very young.

My base cardstock is from Club Scrap, the yellow tag is done with acrylic paint and I cut out and pop dotted my butterfly from a sheet that I got from Paper Imagery Designs. The verse is from Stampin' Up! as is the little clip. Flowers are from various resources.

My first card using Copic Sketch Markers

I have a very long way to go but this is a start.
All cardstock Stampin' Up!
Stamp is Morning Soft from Stampin' Up!

New Martha Border Punch used
Pretties Kit from Stampin' Up!
Organdy Ribbon knotted in center to make a bow - several layers
Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder
Copic Sketch Markers V12, V17, G00, Go5 from my very limited supply of these for now.

I think this card also qualifies for the Cuttlebug Spot Challenge #20

Shirley, I need you to do a tutorial on how to use that punch all the way around PLEASE!!!

Card for Mom- Cuttlebug Spot Challenge

I did this card for mom and since she loves bears I just had to use this cute little bear sticker that I received from Dawn in my OWOH win. This sticker is mounted on Close to Cocoa. I then cut a piece of Blush Blossom using one of my Nestabilities and the Cuttlebug Tiny Mosaic folder. The base card is Blush Blossom and the first layer is Close to Cocoa that I ran through the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder. The line of flowers going down the left side is a find from WalMart that I just had to get. The organdy bow is slightly different shade but I think it does all right on this card. I used the heat gun on it to get that effect. All card stock is Stampin' Up!
Here is the link for the
Cuttlebug Spot Challenge #20

TRIPLE PLAY CARDS

March is a month where I have several birthdays for men in our families. I decided that the Technique Junkie Triple Play Tutorial was just what I needed.
1) Used the ScorPal to score 12 x 12 cardstock at the 3 inch mark.
2) Turned cardstock and cut three 4 inch cards.
3) Cut a piece of designer paper, sorry don't know the name but it is Stampin' Up! at 3 3/4 x 2 3/4
4) Cut 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 Very Vanilla and stamped Birthday Wishes from the Stampin' Up! Sincere Salutations set in Basic Brown toward the bottom of each.
5) Used the Lexicon of Leaves set stamped in Basic Brown on the front and also on the "inside" of each panel using different leaves from the set.
Just plain basic cards but so very easy to do.

Scrapping Layouts - no photos yet

Here are two sets of layouts just waiting for photos of our granddaughter to be added, along with some extra bling. The top set is all Stampin' Up! Sweet Slumber Specialty Designer Paper, along with extra YoYo Yellow. I also used the Stampin' Up! Beautiful Butterflies bigz die which I happen to really like. This dies was used for both sets of layouts. I also used the Decorative Accent #2 on both sets. I am not sure about the flowered paper on the bottom set, I have had it in my stash for some time and just decided it would work with all these goodies. On my trip down to Michaels last week I just happened to pick up those Prisma flowers, you never can have enough flowers you know. The Pearls are from the Stampin' Up! Pretties Kit. Hope you like these.

Challenge Card - Sprinkle the Sparkles.

Help me out on this one. It needs something else and I just can't come up with what to add. I only used 2 shades of glitter for this one and really didn't have the correct glue pen for a fine line. I used the Cuttlebug Stylized Flowers folder. All cardstock Stampin' Up!
This is for the Cuttlebug Challenge http://cuttlebugchallenge.blogspot.com/2009/02/burnished-velvet-on-cuttlebug-challenge.html.

This week

I am working on two gifts to get out and also working on a couple of swaps. I must let you all know however, that I might be heading to Florida. My mom was admitted to the hospital last night and it looks like Congestive Heart failure. I am waiting to hear about the tests they are going to run today and for the roads to clear up some after our snow. I'll let you know more later.

Snow today!

Here are 2 photos taken this morning. The top one of course its still snowing and it was taken off our deck at the back of the house. It has finally stopped in the second one. So after 2 days of rain, over 2 inches it switched to about 4 inches of snow. Beautiful but I am really ready for spring.

What I learned ---

First off before class the three of us - Lisa, Pat and I - hit Michaels, A C Moore and Hobby Lobby in Greensboro had a quick lunch at Panera Bread and then headed over to class at www.thescrapbookingroom.com .

I guess the biggest thing I learned was to use the correct ink to stamp your main image and the correct paper. Memento Ink can be used and then colored immediately. Neenah Classic Crest-Solar White is the top choice. Other inks can be used and other papers can be used but Stampin' Up! does not work for these. There are two great webistes to visit:
www.copicmarker.com
www.ilikemarkers.blogspot.com

You always want to start with your lightest color. I am not going to go into full details you probably should visit Marianne at ilikemarkers for details. I will tell you that I have a LOT of practicing to do before I even show you anything. I have a total of 12 Sketch markers now but will be getting more. I look forward to being able to incorporate these into my scrapbooking - yes you can use them - you just have to make sure they are totally dry before putting on your pages.
